Loading Dock Enclosure

Project Details:  Kankakee Community College required an enclosure to an existing loading dock to improve functionality and provide weather protection. Carlile Architects designed the addition, incorporating two overhead doors for the dock bays and a new personnel door at the existing handicap ramp to guarantee accessibility and ADA compliance. An exterior wall extending to the existing roof structure provides essential protection from the elements and enhances working conditions. Additionally, one overhead door was designed to accommodate an existing dock leveler, creating greater operational efficiency. The newly enclosed dock now serves as a reliable and efficient hub supporting operational performance and safety.
