Elevator Upgrades

Project Details: Kankakee Community College undertook a modernization project for the west elevators in the L Building. The scope of work included upgrades to an existing elevator system, featuring enhanced controls, sensors, electrical equipment, and operating panels.

The elevator car received a comprehensive update, including a stainless-steel car operating panel outfitted with LED-illuminated buttons, an alarm bell, passing gongs, braille indicators, a service cabinet, a digital car position indicator, and a hands-free emergency phone.

In addition, new stainless-steel hall buttons were installed, along with upgraded wall and ceiling panels, recessed ceiling lights, and new carpet tiles to complete the refreshed interior.
