Corporate Office Addition
Project Details: Carlile Architects provided full architectural design and development services for interior and exterior improvements and rehabilitation of a 12,000 square foot building in Momence, IL into a new corporate office space. The adaptive reuse of the former car dealership included the reconfiguration of the showroom to private and open offices, inclusion of break and conference areas, and warehousing areas. The entire building envelope was upgraded including new storefront windows, siding, stone, metal siding, and roofing.
The existing low slope shingle roof was replaced due to existing asphalt shingles reaching the end of their service life. Additionally, some roof sheathing and fascia/eave replacement was required due to rotting and deterioration of wood components. The project also included the replacement and reconfiguration of storefront and entry systems to address the change in building use. Existing masonry and block systems were repaired and re-clad to address deficient and deteriorated conditions. Interior building space was remodeled as part of the scope of services to accommodate the new office function. Relocation and replacement of the existing mechanical systems including the water heater, were integrated into the design.
