Public Works Facility

Project Details: Carlile Architects designed a new Public Works facility for the Village of Manteno to centralizecurrent operations within a single structure. The 43,000 square foot facility was constructed on a 10 acre parcel and provided administrative spaces, a mechanics bay with parts room, wash bay, sign shop, wood shop, as well as open equipment parking and storage areas. The design provided a loading dock for off-loading and loading various materials and supplies. Centralized ADA compliant restrooms, showers, and locker facilities provide access for both field and administrative staff and a break room provides full kitchen amenities and laundry space.

 

Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems were designed by consulting engineers under the coordination of Carlile Architects including full garage heating, air conditioned administrative spaces, heat recovery system and emergency generator.

 

Site improvements by consulting engineer included storm water management and detention pond, guest and employee parking, circulation and drive lanes, re-fueling station, materials storage, salt storage, and secured access.
